Product Description
Phase control thyristors KP series are generalpurpose power disc thyristors.They are designed to convert and control DCand AC currents up to 6800A with frequency up to 500Hz in circuits withvoltages up to 600V-6500V (voltage class 6 to 65).
The anode and cathode of the thyristor(polarity)are determined by thesymbol on the case.
For cooling during the operation of power thyristors they are mounted withcoolers (heat sinks).Depending on the amount of heat generated and theworking conditions of the semiconductors,either natural air flow cooling orforced cooling can be used.When assembling,the necessary clampingforce Fm specific for each type of thyristor package (indicated in theparameter table)must be provided.
Thyristors can be manufactured for use in temperate,cold and tropicalclimates.Thyristors of the disc type KP are used in vanious power converters (e.g.melting furnaces)where fast switching
andcontrol of currentsis necessary
