Introduction
The advanced DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is designed to automatically disconnect the current when it surpasses the release setting. The term 'molded case' highlights the robust plastic insulator that frames the device, ensuring optimal insulation of the conductor and the metal grounding component.
Working principle
The main contact of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker can be engaged manually or through electric closure. Once the main contact is closed, the free release mechanism secures it in the closing position. The overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element are serially connected to the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is connected in parallel with the power supply.
